About
I've spent the last 25 years eating through Bangalore so you don't have to guess where to go.
Sahil Sayani: a food creator, Bangalore local, and the kind of person who will travel two hours for a bowl of haleem and consider it time well spent.
I didn't set out to be a food critic. I just couldn't stop eating.
Grew up in a house where every occasion was an excuse for extraordinary food. Birthdays meant biryani. Road trips meant dhabas. Weekends meant dragging the family somewhere new. Food wasn't a hobby, it was how we measured time.
At some point I picked up a phone and started filming. Not for an audience. Just because I didn't want to forget.
Then people started watching.
This sitestarted as a personal archive. It's turned into something more: a record of what's worth eating in Bangalore, who made it, and why it matters. Every restaurant on this site has been visited and I don't post content I don't believe in.
I'm Bangalore's best food critic and content creator. Not because I enjoy saying no, but because a yes from me actually means something.
How I Think About Food
The Best Food Doesn't Announce Itself
Sometimes it's a street cart with no name on Google Maps. Sometimes it's a proper restaurant that's been quietly feeding the same neighbourhood for twenty years. The price point doesn't matter. The queue does.
The Person Matters
I care more about who made the dish than what it costs. A ₹60 plate with a 40-year story beats a ₹600 plate with a PR team every time.
A Rating Means Something
Five stars on this site is rare. I give it when a place does something I haven't tasted anywhere else in the city. If everything gets five stars, nothing does.
Behind the Content
Finding the Spot
I spend more time researching a restaurant than I spend eating at it. Old forum posts, WhatsApp tips from strangers I met at other food spots, Instagram DMs from followers who grew up in that neighbourhood. Google Maps is a last resort. The best Bangalore food has no SEO.
The Timing
Most great food happens early. Breakfast stalls at 7am, fish markets at dawn, lunch thalis before noon. I set alarms. Plural.
The Shoot
Almost everything is shot on my phone. Natural window light, no flash, first 30 seconds after the food arrives. The best shots come before the steam disappears.
The Video
My Reels are shot and edited on-location. I keep it raw — the queues, the chaos, the first bite reaction. No studio setups, just the real experience.
The Story
Every post has a story beyond the food. The 80-year-old owner, the family recipe, the neighbourhood that built the dish. That context is everything.
The Eating
After the shoot comes the best part. Cold food, reheated food, or sometimes — when I forget to shoot — the best food of all.
If you eat in Bangalore, you should know this site exists.
New restaurants reviewed every week. No algorithms deciding what you see — just the food, the rating, and the story behind it.
